Grace, Thanksgiving, and Reputation
1 Corinthians 10:30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse questions why one who partakes by grace would be spoken ill of for what one gives thanks for, pointing to how inner states shape outer perception and labeling.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 10:30 speaks to grace as a present state of awareness, not a distant reward. If I am a partaker by grace, the I AM within is the source of all giving; condemnation or reproach from others reveals only a mind not yet fully aligned with that inner grace. When I return to the truth that gratitude is my natural function and identity, I rewrite the scene: the world reflects my inner thanksgiving, not a verdict upon me. The “evil spoken of” dissolves as I consciously assume the role of grace itself, letting gratitude be the seed from which my reputation grows. Reproach is but a misalignment within my own consciousness, a curtain that can be drawn aside by the recognition that I am the source of every good moment. By dwelling in this assumption, I experience a new harmony where praise and reproach lose force, because they arise from a mind that believes only in its own remembered lack.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling that you are grace itself: in the next moment of gratitude, silently affirm, 'I am the I AM; all thanks flow from me and manifest as my reality.' Practice this revision until the sense of being judged dissolves and your inner state remains stable.
