Inner Christ, Outer Manifestation

1 Corinthians 1:22-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 1 in context

Scripture Focus

22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1:22-24

Biblical Context

Paul notes two appeals of the age—signs for Jews and wisdom for Greeks. Yet the message is that Christ crucified is the power and wisdom of God available to the called.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, in Neville's voice, the Jews and Greeks are not distant peoples but inner dispositions of your own mind. The 'sign' is the need for external proof; the 'wisdom' is the intellect hungry for cleverness. The apostle says we preach Christ crucified to these minds, a stumbling block to the former and foolishness to the latter. But to those who are called—the awakened I AM within—the cross reveals the power and the wisdom of God. The cross is not history but a turning of your awareness: the ego's resistance yields to the inner Christ. When you stop seeking signs outside and refuse to worship thought-forms of superiority, you discover that God is within, and that the I AM is your true activity. Imagination, rightly held, becomes the stone rejected by the builders into the cornerstone of you. The power of God expresses as your ability to create and your discernment to choose truth over appearance. So your salvation and redemption are realized not by outward events but by the inner alignment that recognizes Christ as the living energy of God within you.

Practice This Now

Practice the assumption: 'I am the power and wisdom of God within me.' Feel it as real for 5–10 minutes, then rest in that state and watch outer events align with inner certainty.
