The four quarters, facing east, west, north, and south, correspond to the four aspects of your being: intention (east, beginnings and vision), release and reflection (west), inner counsel (north), and active, loving expression (south). When you assume the role of the porter, you are not keeping God out but inviting God to dwell through your attention.
