Biblical Context
The Levites are appointed to all manner of service in the tabernacle. Aaron and his sons perform the offerings and the work of the most holy place to make atonement.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the eye of imagination, this passage reveals that the tabernacle is not a distant building but a state of awareness within you. The Levites' many duties are the shifting thoughts, habits, and practices you appoint to sustain the sanctuary of consciousness. Aaron and his sons, who offer upon the altar and attend the most holy place, symbolize the disciplined aspects of your mind that carry out purification and keep the sacred space undefiled. When Moses commands these rites, he is instructing you in alignment: let your daily acts reflect the truth you know in your heart; let your interior life become the atonement that closes the gap between who you are now and your higher self. The place most holy is your I AM presence—your unwavering awareness—where perception, choice, and feeling meet. To practice this, notice what you consider sacred and what you consider profane, then revise by imagining the higher truth stepping forward in every decision. The result is a feeling of oneness, a seamless At-One-Ment with your divine self arising from within the inner temple you tend with intention.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the role of the Levites, tending your inner tabernacle. Affirm and feel that you are at one with your I AM presence by offering a thought, worry, or habit on the altar, then revise it into sacred service.
