Biblical Context
Jabez, more honorable than his brothers, prays to the God of Israel for blessing, expansion, divine presence, and protection from evil; God grants his request.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you is Jabez—the aware center that dares to petition for transformation. Call on the God of Israel—the I AM within—as the one who grants by awakening a new state of consciousness. The prayer 'bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast' becomes a declaration of expanded awareness, a decision to live beyond familiar limits. 'Thine hand might be with me' is not a gesture toward a distant servant but an intimate alignment: you invite the sustaining presence of awareness to guide every choice, mood, and circumstance. Asking to be kept from evil is a releasing of fear, a surrender into the light that prevents inner grief from hardening into outer noise. When you persist in this assumed state, you experience the shift first as interior reassurance, then as outward provision. God granted him that which he requested because the inner state of gratitude and trust has been established. So you too can revise any anxious picture by returning to the feeling of already having what you seek, until your world resonates with the assuredness of your fulfilled petition.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: close your eyes and assume you already walk in blessing, with an enlarged coast and the hand of God with you; dwell in that feeling and let it color your day.
