Inner Crown of Choice
1 Chronicles 28:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Chronicles 28 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David states that God chose him to be king over Israel and Solomon to sit on the throne and build the temple; the passage presents a divine choosing that grounds authority and sacred purpose within the inner life.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the Chronicles text, the crown is not a metal on the brow but a state of awareness God has chosen you to occupy. The I AM says to you, as it did to David, that you are the ruler of your own inner land because you have a nature that is faithful to the divine order. When you acknowledge that God chose Judah, that selection is your recognition that you have a seat of authority in your mind, and Solomon’s coming sonship is the faculty of building a temple in consciousness—the disciplined, permanent place where truth resides. The phrase, ‘I have chosen him to be my son,’ is the inner agreement that your next act—revelation, inspiration, or action—will be performed in fatherly unity with God, not by struggle but by alignment. You may be surrounded by many ‘sons’—ideas, plans, passions—but you decide which to crown and rule from the throne of your heart. The kingdom spoken of here is the kingdom of the LORD over Israel within you; by assuming the role of king and builder, you realize that your present consciousness is the house God dwells in.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare in the first person, 'I am the chosen king of my inner Israel; I will build the temple of my consciousness.' Then imagine Solomon on a throne within your chest and feel your inner builders (your disciplined thoughts) at work, while God stands as Father to your life.
