Inner Tribes, One Covenant
1 Chronicles 27:20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Chronicles 27 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse records the names of leaders from Ephraim (Hoshea, son of Azaziah) and from the half-tribe of Manasseh (Joel, son of Pedaiah). It’s a genealogical note establishing tribal order and identity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the names Ephraim and Manasseh are not places but states of consciousness. Hoshea and Azaziah, Joel and Pedaiah, are not men so much as the attitudes and faculties you presently recognize and employ. The I AM is the currency of awareness, and every division you observe is really a movement of your inner life toward unity. The listing shows a settled order within your inner household: two tribes whose loyalty you are called to harmonize under the Covenant, the I AM. When you treat these inner states as real, as named and attended, you begin to feel the one consciousness behind them. The outward events of your life reflect your inner alignment; by acknowledging and accepting these dispositions you stop fighting them and allow their energy to flow in harmony. The key is not to change them by force but to revise the sense of self that contains them, to imagine that Hoshea and Joel are already at peace within your being. Then your experience moves toward unity, and the sense of division dissolves into covenant loyalty to your I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and name the inner selves as Hoshea and Joel, then declare that you are the I AM, uniting these parts. Visualize a golden thread tying them together into one living consciousness.
