Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 23:2 does not narrate a march of history so much as a movement of consciousness. The king, by gathering the princes of Israel with the priests and the Levites, declares that every facet of the self—will, wisdom, ritual, service—must stand in the circle of awareness before God. The princes are your ruling thoughts and decisions; the priests are your spiritual aims and perceptions; the Levites are your daily acts of devotion and cultivation. When these parts answer the call and come into one assembly, the inner state becomes holy and seamless. The act of gathering is an inner alignment, a declaration that your attention is not scattered by outward appearances but centered in the I AM, the present awareness that makes all things. As you imagine this, you feel the unity of purpose growing, and events around you begin to reflect that harmony—the sense that life is orderly because your inner government is united in worship and service. The temple you build is your own consciousness; God manifests there as your unbroken I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine all inner parts (will, intellect, feeling, and daily actions) coming into a single circle before I AM. Say, I am one with all my parts; they gather into unity now, and feel the presence of God within.
