1 Chronicles 22:6

Biblical Context

David calls Solomon and charges him to build a house for the LORD, establishing a sacred commission and a path of obedience in worship.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this verse you are summoned to become the builder of a temple not made with hands, but within your own consciousness. The Father's charge is your inner command to reform the house of your mind so that the I AM can dwell unimpeded. Solomon stands for the state of awareness that takes responsibility for sacred space; you are asked to declare and align with the identity that constructs the temple where God is present. The act of building is not a distant task but a present decision--to assume that you are already the architect of divine dwelling. When you accept the charge, you restructure your self-concept toward obedience, faithfulness, and constant worship in thought. The temple's walls are your disciplines, your daily assumptions, your feeling of being the authorized possessor of the holy within. As you stand in that assumed role, the LORD's presence becomes an inner reality you inhabit. Your life becomes a construction site for sacred presence, drawn forth by the conviction that you are the builder of the inner sanctuary.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the role of Solomon, the builder of your inner temple. Speak or feel, 'I AM the builder; I build the temple within,' and let the sense of the divine presence inhabit your mind.
