Biblical Context
Hezron marries late and fathers Segub; Segub’s line yields Jair with 23 cities in Gilead; after Hezron’s death, Abiah bears Ashur, continuing the lineage.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this text, the outer genealogies are but reflections of the inner state you entertain. Hezron’s late union is the mature act of consciousness choosing a form for its desire; at threescore years the I AM says yes to a partner in imagination, and Segub is born as a new vibration of life. Jair, inheriting twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead, represents the manifold powers of your mind you now claim as yours: the ability to think, feel, judge, and act with unity across many situations. The taking of Geshur and Aram along with Jair’s towns stands for the disciplined act of returning your attention to the imagination, gathering the diverse faculties under a single purpose. Even the death of Hezron and the birth of Ashur show that the old state yields to a new order when you stop clinging to the former picture. You are not bound by appearances; you are the I AM that births such lineages of experience through the simple act of assumption.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume you are already the inhabitant of the life you seek; feel the unity of your mind as the governor of all your scenes. Hold the feeling of 'it is done' for a few minutes, then resume your day with that memory alive.
