Biblical Context
These verses recount the oath-like covenant with Abraham, renewed to Isaac and Jacob, and proclaimed as an everlasting law promising the land of Canaan as an inheritance.
Neville's Inner Vision
To my ear these lines disclose that God’s covenant is not a distant contract but the I AM within you confirming your inner state. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob stand for successive states of consciousness, each bound to a promise that remains current as long as you align with the inner law. The land of Canaan becomes not a geographic prize but the felt fullness of awareness available to you now—the space where you know you belong, are secure, and free to breathe as your true self. The everlasting covenant is the timeless assurance that this inner inheritance cannot be broken by circumstance, for it rests on the realizable fact that you are awareness itself, not the changing events of the world. When you live in trust and loyalty to that covenant, you naturally move toward the land your imagination has already imagined. Your sense of identity shifts from lack to abundance, from doubt to certainty, guided by an inner law that never fails when you remember it in feeling.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the I AM within declaring, 'The land of my inheritance is mine now.' Feel the security and belonging in your chest as if you already inhabit the promised state.
