Verse 28 invites you to a practical visualization. The ark of the LORD is the ark of your own awareness—the I AM that suffices, the inner Presence you can claim now. When Israel lifts the ark with trumpet, cymbals, harps, and psalteries, they are not producing magic outside themselves; they enact a considerable inward movement. The sounds and acts are symbolic pictures of the faculties you command: desire, proclamation, praise, memory, and intention, all yoked to one aim—the Presence within. In Neville's method, you do not seek God outside; you revise your state of consciousness until you feel as if the Presence has always dwelt within. Assume the feeling of the Presence is already yours, and let the outer world respond to that inner state. The collective shout becomes your inner affirmation; the diverse instruments become the varied thoughts and feelings you marshal to support the state of awake awareness. When you dwell in that assumption, the day’s events begin to reflect your inner harmony.
