Day by Day, a Host Within
1 Chronicles 12:22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Chronicles 12 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Day by day, individuals come to help David, growing his force until it becomes a mighty host like God's.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, see that the 'days' passing are not external volunteers arriving, but the inner conditions of your consciousness being stirred to cooperate with your purpose. The line 'day by day' is the rhythm of your inner decision: you do not summon a distant army; you awaken the inner states that are already yours by birth. As you remain faithful to the I AM, like David who stands in trust, the seemingly scattered energies of your mind gather to form a great host. They come 'to help him' because you have ceased resisting the truth of your unity with God. The 'host, like the host of God,' is the harmonized power of your faculties—imagination, faith, desire, patience—acting under the presence of the divine within. Providence is not a distant plan but the immediate reveling of your inner attention. When you feel the weight of a great task, instead of begging for more, assume the feeling of the already-arrived assistance. Your consciousness, rightly focused, becomes the army that can do the work of God in your life.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare, 'I AM that which is gathering my army.' Visualize your inner David receiving aid from trusted inner faculties; feel the support around you as real, and let the sense of divine Providence fill you for 3–5 minutes.
