1 Chronicles 11:7-9

Biblical Context

David dwells in a castle and builds the city around it, growing because the LORD is with him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the castle as your stationary state of awareness, and the city as its outward circumference, the pattern by which you live. David dwelling there is you choosing to identify with a centralized I AM, not merely a memory, but the active sense of life that makes all things feel possible. The “city round about” is the ever-widening circle of your inner dominion—thoughts, feelings, decisions—all fenced and organized by your unwavering awareness. When the LORD of hosts is with him, it means your awareness is attended by the mighty hosts of imagination and faith, ready to fulfill the idea you entertain. Your inner king does not go out to conquer others; he manifests as the order, safety, and advantage of your own mind, drawing circumstance into alignment with your envisioned state. Practically, you do not fight the world; you become the state in which the world naturally responds.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and declare, 'I am the castle; I am the city of David within.' Then feel the Lord of hosts surrounding your inner country with warm certainty for a few minutes.
