Inner Dukes of Edom
1 Chronicles 1:51-54 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse records Hadad's death and lists the Edomite dukes who ruled Edom.
Neville's Inner Vision
Hadad's death in this record is not history alone but a symbol: the old self, the ego-king that once ruled outwardly, passes away. The dukes of Edom—Timnah, Aliah, Jetheth, Aholibamah, Elah, Pinon, Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, Magdiel, Iram—are the separate faculties of mind that stand behind every act of power, separation, memory, or identity. When the text names them as dukes, it calls attention to the inner sovereignty you carry. In Neville’s view, the 'Kingdom of God' is not a place but your present awareness, the I AM that witnesses these inner rulers. By recognizing Hadad's death, you allow the old pattern to dissolve and you invite a unity of consciousness where these dukes bow to the one sovereign ruler: you as the I AM. The very list becomes a map of the inner order, not something outside you; each duke speaks of a tendency that can be aligned with your life by feeling the state rather than chasing the form. When you stand in this inner kingly authority, thoughts and appearances reflect the one presence within you, the undivided power that creates and sustains your world.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine Hadad's death as the letting go of an old self, then see the dukes of Edom aligning under the sole king of your inner realm—the I AM. Feel the feeling of unity and authority—present now.
