1 Chronicles 1:51 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Chronicles 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse notes the death of Hadad and names the dukes of Edom. It points to inner powers and authorities within the mind rather than literal rulers.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the line in 1 Chronicles 1:51 is not a geography lesson, but a revelation of your inner state. Hadad dying represents the death of a former ruling conception in your consciousness. The three dukes named—Timnah, Aliah, Jetheth—are not persons but facets of your mind: persistent habits, opinions, and appetites that have ruled your inner Edom. When Hadad fades, the field is cleared, yet the inner sovereignty remains to be claimed. The kingdom, then, is no crown worn by an external lineage but the awareness you hold as I AM. The dukes come into view to remind you that your inner world is governed by many dynamics, and you—through imagination and assumption—may align them to serve a single purpose: the realization of the Kingdom of God within. Providence, in this sense, is your own abiding I AM, guiding the movements of your thoughts. To practice is to assume the feeling of the I AM sitting as king over every inner duke, and to revise any former claim of limitation into new, stated reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume, 'I AM the ruler of my inner kingdom.' Revise any sense of lack and feel the I AM reigning as king over every inner duke.
