Biblical Context
1 Chronicles 1:5-6 lists the sons of Japheth and the sons of Gomer, a simple genealogical record.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of Japheth and Gomer not as distant forefathers, but as divisions within your own I AM, each name a movement of imagined life passing through your attention. The list is not history but a map of your inner family. Gomer’s line and Japheth’s lines unfold within you as you attend to different dispositions—projects, memories, dreams, stubborn beliefs, and generous intuitions—all vying for attention. When you accept that 'these are my states,' you no longer fear their separation; you recognize unity as the underpinning reality. The aim is the Kingdom of God, a state of consciousness where all these branches acknowledge their source in the One I AM. When you silently affirm, 'I am all these names and more; I am the living tree of consciousness,' you begin to revise what seems external as an inner arrangement you have authored. Imagination is the seed; your present sense of I AM is the soil; the events of your life respond as you shift your assumption toward unity.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, breathe, and repeat softly, 'I am all the names of my inner life, united as the I AM.' Then envision a bright tree with branches labeled Japheth, Gomer, and each descendant, gently curving toward the trunk of I AM, and feel the sense of unity and wholeness.
