Inner Names of Consciousness
1 Chronicles 1:36 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Chronicles 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse simply inventories Eliphaz's sons as a genealogical list.
Neville's Inner Vision
Eliphaz’s sons are not distant descendants but states of consciousness within your mind. Teman is the warmth and brightness of thought; Omar is the breath of faith that says, I am here; Zephi is the movement of spirit in your imagination; Gatam is the steady, stubborn grip of attention; Kenaz is the lamp of insight that shines in the dark; Timna is the subtle tinder of energy waiting to be sparked; Amalek is the resistance that arises when you forget who you are. In this view, the passage becomes a map of your interior world. You are the I AM, and these names shift as you partake in life. When Amalek roars, do not argue with him; merely revise him with a new feeling and a new image. Tell yourself that you are the master in this inner house, and that Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna respond to your command. Your imagination is not a servant but the sovereign author of reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes. Revise the inner list by declaring, 'I am the ruler of this inner house; Amalek is transformed by my loving imagination, and Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna serve my peace.'
