In “Your Supreme Dominion,” Neville Goddard reframes the Genesis creation account as an inner psychological process rather than an external historical event. He teaches that man himself is the ‘earth’ to be subdued, representing passions, emotions, and ideas symbolized by animals, fish, and birds. God, by becoming man, exemplifies the necessity of knowing anything spiritually through identification rather than analysis. Man must learn to ‘plant’ and cultivate only righteous thoughts, assuming mentally the feeling-state of his desired outcomes. This right consciousness, or righteousness, then shapes outer circumstances to reflect the inner garden. By sustained assumption and uncritical observation of oneself, one brings inner states into harmony and manifests dominion over life’s events.
