In this lecture Neville Goddard explores the concept that our future is determined not by external forces—stars, teacup leaves, or predestined fate—but by our own state of consciousness. Drawing on biblical passages such as Matthew 21:22 and Hebrews 11:3, he defines prayer as a motion towards and nearness at the fulfillment of desire through vivid imagination. He illustrates his teaching with real-life stories, including a minister named Danny whose imaginings led to a six-figure music contract, and Mrs. Archibald Roosevelt who secured a rental through a nightly imaginative act. Goddard emphasizes that faith is a simple surrender to the Spirit of God within us, which he equates with human imagination. He warns against using imaginative power for harm and stresses the eternal law: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Finally, he insists that by assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled and living in that state, one’s world will inevitably respond.
