This lecture explores the principle that all reality is a product of imagination. Goddard defines fiction as any imaginary construction and challenges the notion of an objective world by showing that faith and belief can literally harden assumptions into facts. Drawing upon biblical parables and examples—such as the cursing of the fig tree, Joseph’s interpretation of dreams, and contemporary events like Kennedy’s assassination—he demonstrates that imaginal acts have external effects. He insists that when one prays, one must feel the wish fulfilled and live from that state, for the internal assumption contains its own plan of fulfillment. By comparing the outer world of effects with the inner world of causation, Goddard emphasizes that the mysterious power of imagination is the divine creative force within each person. Ultimately, he exhorts listeners to consciously rewrite their life stories by imagining desired outcomes, persisting in belief, and thereby manifesting those dreams into reality.
