In this lecture Neville Goddard introduces the First Principle, the phrase be still and know that I am God, as the foundational truth by which all spiritual teachings should be tested. He urges listeners to question every spiritual or scriptural assertion until they experience its living truth in their own consciousness. Through personal anecdotes Goddard demonstrates how he manifested physical events such as travel, stilled movement of objects, resurrection, and divine encounters by assuming and sustaining the feeling of I AM within. He analyzes key scriptural I AM statements and shows that each can be validated through inner stillness and imagination. Goddard explains that the world is a shadow or school of darkness whose events can be revised from within by conscious imagining. He also distinguishes between Christ in us, our life and faith, and being in Christ, full union with the Risen Lord, noting that true transformation arises from inner proof. Ultimately, he calls students to apply the law themselves, persistently testing and affirming their own divine consciousness through imagination and silence.
