In this lecture Neville Goddard explores the biblical assertion that 'no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid,' identifying that foundation explicitly with the human Imagination, or the divine 'I AM.' He contrasts the common belief in external saviors—religious leaders, kings, dictators—with the true source of creation, emphasizing that Imagination alone builds reality. Drawing on passages from 1 Corinthians 3:11, 1 Samuel 8, Exodus 3:14, and John 1:3, he illustrates both the danger of seeking power outside oneself and the power of assuming one’s desired state internally. Neville gives a practical method: dare to assume and mentally enact the state you desire, rest in that assumption until it manifests in external circumstances. He explains that dreams and visions originate only from God—our Imagination—and that consistent use of this inner faculty brings about tangible change. Finally, he warns that rejecting this divine Imagination in favor of external authorities leads to slavery, while embracing it leads to spiritual awakening and the eventual appearance of all biblical characters within oneself.
