In the April 3, 1972 lecture “Justified States,” Neville Goddard teaches that God’s Kingdom is an unmerited gift and that believers are divinely justified and glorified by grace rather than by works. He presents reality as composed of infinite mental states, each fully alive in the imagination and susceptible to transformation. Using the scientific analogy of the positron moving backward in time, he illustrates how consciousness can traverse past, present, and future states. Goddard insists that individuals are not their states but immortal beings who animate those states and can therefore shift at will from poverty to abundance or from sickness to health. Through practical examples—such as envisioning someone gainfully employed to help them find a job—he demonstrates the Law and the Promise in action. Ultimately, he affirms that imagination is divine, and mastering the art of state-shifting reveals the presence of God within.
