In "God’s Dwelling Place," Neville Goddard teaches that God does not dwell outside of us but within us as our very human imagination, which pre-exists and transcends our physical being. He reinterprets key biblical texts—especially Paul’s letter to the Philippians and the Gospel of John—to show that the Incarnation of Christ symbolizes our own divine power emptied into human form. Our imaginative faculty, once buried by memory loss in the womb, must be consciously awakened through ‘living in’ desired states rather than merely wishing them. By imaginatively dwelling in completed desires—be they travel, relationships, or career—what was a mere shadow becomes the only substance. God’s creative power within us, called “I AM,” awaits recognition and use to transform reality. Neville illustrates these principles with practical examples, such as manifesting a trip to Norway by embodying that state in sleep. He urges listeners to test and verify these truths through meditation and intentional imagination, confirming that every completed state already exists for us to occupy.
