In this lecture Neville Goddard explores the symbolism of water and blood in First John 5: “not by water only, but by water and blood,” interpreting them as truth and its application in the process of manifestation. He argues that every true birth of desire requires both a clear mental conception (water) and a lived experience through feeling and assumption (blood). Goddard emphasizes the creative power within each individual’s imagination, warning against bowing to outward idols and instead cultivating inner faith. He illustrates the method of assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled, describing it as a kind of ‘immaculate conception’ in the mind’s womb. By persistently dwelling in the imagined state, the invisible desire eventually crystallizes into physical reality. Ultimately, Goddard presents the resurrection of Christ in man as the awakening of the active creative mind from its passive, sense-bound state.
