Neville Goddard’s 1954 lecture “Awakened Imagination” posits that human imagination is the redeeming power spoken of in the Bible as Christ Jesus. He introduces the ‘‘art of revision,’’ a method of mentally revisiting and rewriting past events to align them with one’s ideal and thereby shape future reality. Goddard illustrates this with a case study of a grandmother who reconciled with her family by vividly imagining and feeling the letters she wished to receive. He emphasizes that consistent application of this practice awakens the ‘‘Second Man’’ within and transforms one’s external circumstances without resorting to external manipulation. Drawing parallels to Einstein’s revolution in physics, Goddard argues that imagination, when consciously employed, transcends factual limitations and becomes the driver of personal and collective redemption.
